£11.00 to £11.50 an hour    Part-time.

Mon to Fri – no weekends – Wiltshire Holiday times only

Winterslow pre-school is looking for Holiday Club staff to work in some school holidays with children aged between 2 & 10 years.

The positions are flexible and can be for up to 26 hours a week between the hours of 8am & 5pm.

The role could suit a student or a parent.

One vacancy requires someone with a Level 2/3 qualification in Early Years Education.

Part-time Level 3 Early years Practitioner.

Start Date: May/June 2024

We are looking for an Early Years practitioner, who is passionate about working with young children, to join our team in a part-time capacity. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a small independent pre-school for between 32 and 37 hours a week during school terms.

We also have a holiday club that offers further employment opportunities during Wiltshire holiday periods.

We believe that children learn more when they are happy and secure so we are looking for someone who will provide hands-on experience and play opportunities that will enable progress in their learning journey. We want staff who will inspire the children and offer them the very best care and education. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, motivated and passionate about organising many exciting activities for the children.

Setting Type: Term time pre-school with a Holiday Club that operates for up to 8 weeks in Wiltshire school holiday periods. Term time hours are from 8am to 6pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3pm Friday.

Contract: Up to 32 hours a week term time, plus some holiday club hours.

Salary: From £12 an hour

Qualification: Level 3 Early Years qualification minimum.

Schedule: Minimum of three days a week

Start date: June 2024

Person specification: Essential criteria:

1. Willingness to learn and to improve.

2. An Early Years’ Education and Childcare qualification or equivalent at Level 3.

3. Ability to supervise children effectively.

4. Proven experience of working in a pre-school/nursery setting as well as in a team.

5. Ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of people including parents, the

Management Committee, Ofsted inspectors, staff and children - verbally and in writing.

6. Be able to use any information from the child’s initial entry profile that may be a positive

tool to help the child settle and help the child progress while at the Pre-school.

7. Sound understanding of child development and of children’s needs.

8. To have knowledge of the Early Years curriculum (EYFS), taking into account the SEND

Code of Practice, Child Protection procedures and Diversity and Equal Opportunities’

considerations.

9. Knowledge of current legislation relevant to the Early Years.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a group of children ensuring that their developmental needs and care requirements are always met. They will also need to have a good understanding and implementation of safeguarding and health & safety requirements.
