Winter Topic

We returned to term 3 exploring Winter. This has involved lots of ice. The children have been learning about how ice is formed, and how strong it is. They have had lots of ice to play with, including painting ice, building with ice blocks and breaking up ice to find some of the Arctic animals hidden inside. They have learnt that when ice get warm it melts and turns back into water.

The children have also learnt about some animals that live in the arctic, including, polar bears, seals, the arctic fox and rabbit, and whales, and wolves. They have learnt what an igloo is and made their own, as well as making pretty snowflakes to hang in the preschool room. We have also had lots of snowball fun with our pretend snowballs.

We are all hoping that the children can experience some real snow here soon!
